The Strafford County Wind Symphony traditionally honors "Music in Our Schools" month by joining with a local music teacher and their school band to create a concert which will inspire and challenge young musicians. This year SCWS worked with music teacher Deborah Cardinali and the Noble VI grade band.

The Strafford County Wind Symphony performed in the Fall Foliage of Music Festival sponsored by the York County Concert Association’s 28th Season  on Thursday Oct. 24th at 7:30 pm at the C.K. Burns School, Howard L. Cushman Wing, in Saco, Maine. In a concert entitled “Suspenseful Sounds—From Hitchcock to Harry Potter” the Wind Symphony played a selection of music drawn from pieces composed over the last two centuries. With autumn in the air, the sound of rustling leaves, whistling winds and bewitching “boos” were mirrored in pieces from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera,  Berlioz’s March to the Scaffold, Moussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Vernon Duke’s Autumn in New York  and John Williams’ Harry Potter Symphonic Suite.
